Prayer Ministry Taskforce

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he
hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of
him.” 1 John 5: 14 - 15.

The prayer ministry task force aims to be fresh fire, energy and a vision for Mt. Airy Presbyterian church. It is a new ministry to our church, . By January 2012, praying over the various needs and concerns of the ministry teams, pastor, session and staff, members and visitors.

Members of the team attend prayer ministry meetings and are accountable to the rest of the prayer team, meet designated ministry team captain and find out what the needs are of that team and pray for them. We must not allow ourselves to become idle, but allow the Holy Spirit to move and empower us and be responsive to the Holy Spirit in prayer.

The prayer team aims to pray for and with people,  at the beginning or end of services on a rotating basis, Or, pray if specifically asked by a church member. Prayer Ministry Taskforce members will be identified by names in the bulletin, newsletter and from the pulpit and possibly a photograph on a board at the entrance to the church.

We, ourselves, may be a little unsure on not knowing what to pray for or exactly how to pray. That’s where scripture kicks in. remember, it’s not YOU, but the Holy Spirit who gives you the words. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

New International Version John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Your prayer concerns are important to us and to God. We promise they will be handled with the utmost care. We promise to lift each person to God by name and need, without prejudice or
judgment. We promise that there are caring, faith-filled, trained volunteers behind every prayer, standing with you in agreement as they lift your cares to God.

We believe in the power of prayer and promise to pray according to the will of God as set forth in the Holy Bible. Because we respect your privacy, we promise to keep your shared concerns and personal information confidential.
